Get your Princess on…

2011 April 29

Royal wedding? Royal shmedding. How about that royal makeup? The princess frosted her own cake, and she did a mighty fine job, I must say. I’ve enjoyed reading the detailed recaps of Kate’s look, so here’s my own interpretation of her big day look using Bare Escentual’s products and tools.

Start off with Brightening Eye Primer to brighten up those eyes and keep your shadow on all day and night. Lightly dust your entire lid with a base color such as Vanilla Sugar using the Blending Brush. Add some “pop” with a soft brown, such as Camp, using the Crease Defining Brush for a daytime smoky effect in the outer corner. Finish with top and bottom liner in a brown such as Tiger’s Eye (or try Soft Black if you prefer) using the Soft Focus Liner Brush. If you don’t  have Kate’s swoon worthy naturally thick eyebrows, don’t fret, touch them up with the Essential Brows Kit. Complete your eye look with Flawless Definition Mascara (waterproof, obviously, for when your Prince makes you cry).

Finish the look with a bright  pink blush, such as Fruit Cocktail, lightly blended onto the apples of your cheeks with a Tapered Blush Brush. Don’t forget your pout (for that royal kiss), and why not pay homage to the new Princess with Katie Buxom—a beautiful fresh pink with plumper and sparkle.

Wanna get royal digits, as well? Here’s links to the polish used on Kate: Bourjois Rose Lounge topped with Essie’s Allure.
