I will go ahead and apologize right now—because between the time I created this outfit and composed this post these shoes went out of stock. It’s the magic of the internet. Anyways, fingers crossed for a restock? I’m obsessing over this combination of mint + polka dots, so fresh & summery! And this top—so light! I know it will become a staple for my summer wardrobe. What? Like you go to baseball games without a pencil skirt and red lipstick? Rumor on the street is that baseball is back. Is it just me or does baseball have the longest season ever? I could probably Google that, but I won’t. Anyways, welcome back Spring and baseball. I’m excited for both of you, mostly thanks to Territory Train—a fun little biz that plans fabulous weekend escapes for Twins fans. Coach bus, game tickets, hotel, organized bar hopping. It’s all included in the trips. If you’re a fan of any Minnesota Sports teams be sure to check it out! I vote that you gather a group of your best (lady) friends (okay or your husband, I suppose) and book a trip stat. You can mark me down as extremely excited for the upcoming Twins vs. Brewers trip (May 18th-20th)! Our short vacation to Arizona made me start thinking about summer concert season (yes, that is how my brain works. Sunshine —> Summer —> Concerts). In fact as soon as I got home I had to go online and buy tickets to Eric Hutchinson. Just a small dose of sunshine puts me head-first into live music mode. And that mode makes me start thinking about summer concert apparel. The thing I’m loving about this look is how different the entire thing becomes by switching the shoes. It goes from country concert in a field to acoustic show along the beachfront. Today’s Inspiration: Sanna Tank Top ($30.00), Hollister Bolsa Chica Denim Shorts ($39.50), Triple Weave belt ($8.50), Miss Selfridge Flower Locket ($5.00), Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet ($325.00), Flora Cowboy Hat ($112.00), Fringe Cross Body Bag ($22.50), Steve Madden Azurret Booties ($97.30), HTC Straw Hat with Twisted Bandana ($253.00), Roxy Happy Trails Wallet ($15.97), TOMS Teal Pop Herringbone Classics ($54.00).
Well, there’s a first time for everything, and last night I fell asleep during the Oscars. It was towards the end, so I don’t think I missed much. But man, vacation really takes it out of me. I’m still debating about whether my favorite dress award goes to Maya Rudolph (in Johanna Johnson) or Michelle Williams (in Louis Vuitton). . One thing I know for sure is that just because you have great legs and a slit in your dress does not mean that your leg needs to be exposed during the entire awards show (hahem, Angelina). Doing so might result in things like this or this (thanks to @lindsaypell for hooking me up with that photo. I laughed until I cried and then I did it again). In other news, it appears that those dreamy layers of neutral lace aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Between the Grammys and the Oscars I lost count of how many neutral and/or lace dresses walked the red carpet. Today’s Inspiration: Prada Perfume ($119.00), Maiyet Clutch ($1250.00), Cream Court Shoes ($39.00), Dorothy Perkins Lace Pencil Dress ($55.00), Etro Tiered Necklace ($1045.00), Bare Escentuals Blush in Lovelyl ($19.00), NARS Larger than Life Lipgloss in Como ($30.00), OPI Polish in Wocka Wocka ($10.20).
While packing for Arizona, I tossed a bunch of chartreuse in my bag (my outfit for the wedding is chevron + chartreuse) and then a bunch of leopard (wearing a sheer leopard top out in Scottsdale on Saturday night) then I looked in my bag and was like “Ohhh, neon + leopard, I like it.” And so this post was born. Losing my mind? You be the judge. But I definitely grabbed a bright coral cardi to toss over my leopard top this weekend. Today’s Inspiration: AE Open-Stitch Cardigan ($29.99), Leopard Mesh Tank ($28.00), Mother Denim Rascal Cuff Jean ($210.00), Maison Du Posh “Bite Me” Bag ($940.00), Summer Neon Link Necklace ($215.00), O.P.I. Polish in ‘Dit it On Em’ ($19.50), Make Up Forever Aqua Cream ($22.00), H & M Ballet Flats ($12.00).
It seems like the possibilities of outfits to pair up with colored denim are endless. But then you get a pair and you’re like, “Errr, what should I wear with these?” and that is when I discovered that having a neutral lacy top on hand makes life easier. It looks simple and fresh, especially in white paired up with aqua skinnies. Today’s Inspiration: Tibi Lace Top ($265.00), Goldsign High-Waist Jeans ($188.00), ASOS Doctor Bag ($78.78), Anne Klein Bloom Flats ($75.00), Style & Co. White Feather Earrings ($20.00), White Agate Cuff ($48.00), Gold + White Druzy Ring from Target ($19.99).
